NEC External Representative Applications Open
The North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) Nursing Education Committee (NEC) has one external representative position open. Nursing education community external representatives are selected and appointed by the Board for a two-year term on the NEC and may be reappointed for an additional two-year term. The purpose of this committee is to make recommendations to the board related to nursing education and for the Nursing Education Scholarship (NES) awards.
Interested North Dakota nurse educator applicants should have knowledge and experience in nursing regulation, practice, and education. NEC external nursing education community representatives must be able to attend four scheduled and occasional unscheduled NEC meetings each year and must have a willingness to advocate for public protection through the work of the NEC.
Nurse educators interested in applying for appointment to the NEC should complete the Application for Appointment to Committee form and submit a completed application with a current CV and cover letter to Dr. Charys Kunkel and Samuel Breen, at CKunkel@ndbon.org and SBreen@ndbon.org, and carbon copy education@ndbon.org. Applicants should provide details about why they are interested in serving on the NEC.
Applications will be accepted through April 9, 2026. The Board will review the applications and make appointments during the April 23, 2026, Board meeting. The appointees will also be notified following the meeting.
