REPORTING VIOLATIONS
Protection of the public is enhanced by the reporting of incidents that may be in violation of North Dakota statutes or grounds for disciplinary action by the board.
Licensees and registrants are required by law to report to the board any knowledge of the performance by others of acts or omissions that violate North Dakota Century Code chapter 43-12.1. The board may take disciplinary action against a licensee or registrant if the licensee or registrant has failed to report any violation of the Nurse Practices Act or rules adopted under this chapter.
Citizens may report any knowledge of unsafe nursing practice to the board by contacting the board office and providing the requested information.
Reports can be made by completing the Potential Violation Report form and returning it to the ND Board of Nursing or by contacting Karla Bitz, RN, Associate Director, at the North Dakota Board of Nursing at 701-328-9783 or email at kbitz@ndbon.org.
